OK, so it would come as no surprise to my seven-odd readers that this blog has been languishing in the doldrums for some time now, with the odd surge of ‘content’ regarding birds and photography and stuff. The question arises: abandon or rejig?
Truth be told, I rather like getting the stew of thoughts in the old noggin down here in some sort of order. It’s a kind of reward in itself, even if readership languishes just a tad. Throw into the mix the fact that we are far, far from Corner Cottage at the moment, venturing about the Northern Hemisphere for the first time in seven years, and all number of ideas and impressions are jostling for attention — from food to photography (naturally) to wine and people and architecture and history.
So, herewith, we have what business folk are fond of dubbing a ‘pivot’. Time allowing in the chaos we call our schedule, I’m going to be posting some random bits and pieces about everything not-Braidwood, not-Corner Cottage. For a while at least. If it’s front of brain, it’ll find its way here. Brace yourselves — it’s going to be a slow, overindulgent account of a European Jeremiad.
