As usual, updating this blog is going more slowly than developments in the real world. In other words, I’m not keeping up. I’ve got a good post nearly done, but in the meantime, stuff keeps happening. So I thought I’d jump the queue and do a quick post just introducing the offspring of our hard-working Kestrel couple.

They’ve had three little hatchlings, which I’m told is pretty normal for the species. I thought a while about whether giving them names would be too twee, but it’s very tempting. First, I thought of Wynken, Blynken, and Nod, but that didn’t seem to fit; then I thought of the Three Musketeers, but Athos, Porthos and Amaris is just pretentious. Then it came to me: the Three Stooges.

So without further ado, please say hi to Larry, Curly and Mo.

They’ll be featuring here in the future — but first we may need to back-track a bit just to fill in what’s happened in the weeks before today. Come back soon to see what’s going on!
